Wygo: Split Trips · Last updated July 11, 2026

Wygo is a zero-signup trip expense splitter. We ask for as little as possible and never sell your data. This page explains exactly what we store and why.

What we collect

What we do not collect

How your data is used

Only to run the app: show your trip, compute who owes who, and notify tripmates when something changes. A forwarded email is processed once by an AI service (Anthropic Claude) purely to turn it into an expense line — it is not used to train models and is not retained after parsing.

Who can see a trip

Trips are private to the people who hold the trip's link and join code. There are no public trips and no directory. Anyone with the link can view and edit that trip's expenses — treat the link like a shared key and only share it with your tripmates.

Connecting your Gmail (Pro)

Wygo Pro can connect to your Gmail so travel bookings add themselves. If you choose to connect, you grant read-only access (Google's gmail.readonly scope). We use it for one purpose: to find booking confirmation emails (flights, hotels, ferries) and turn them into expenses on your trip. We do not read unrelated mail beyond that search, we never send email, and we never sell or share your email data. Each booking email is processed once by an AI service (Anthropic Claude) purely to extract the amount and description — it is not used to train models. You can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored access token. Wygo's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where it's stored

Trip data is stored in a secured Supabase (PostgreSQL) database. Only our server can read or write it — the app never holds a database key. Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Deleting your data

You can delete any expense in the app at any time. To delete an entire trip and all of its data, email us and we'll remove it — include the trip link.

Children

Wygo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
